Shea and kokum butters help the skin retain moisture. Calendula extract has great moisturizing properties. Cornmint essential oil offers a cooling effect to soothe irritation, and rosemary essential oil is known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties. Rosemary is also tied to the cycles of life and death in Greek and Roman history - an interesting parallel to some people's motivations around tattoos and wearing body art for a lifetime.
To apply, using a small spoon or spatula, scoop out a small amount of balm and apply to the skin. The warmth of your body will help melt the balm into the skin. Gently rub in until the balm has completely melted; if you feel any bits, that’s the shea butter melting!
